The Area

Villa Amarillo is located midway between the typical Spanish villages of Villamarchante and Cheste in the heart of the Turia Valley. Both villages offer many places for your grocery shopping, a few restaurants and many small, typically Spanish local bars.

The area is very both tranquil and rural, offering beautiful hilly countryside for walking or cycling or just exploring by car (It is essential to hire a car on your visit as public transport is sadly lacking! See the links page for details)

The beautiful city of Valencia, with its' wonderful architecture and cosmopolitan shopping areas is about 25 km away, about half an hour by car or you can catch the train or metro from one of the nearby villages. The City hosts attractions such as the City Of Arts And Sciences which includes L'Oceanagraphic, the largest aquarium in Europe. The Royal Botanical Gardens and the Old dry Riverbed are worth visiting as well as the famous Bridge of Flowers in the heart of the old City.

Valencia Airport (Manises) is a 20 minute drive away, and is now served by many budget Airlines, while Alicante Airport is about 2 hours away by car on the motorway although there is a train service as well.

A 30 minute drive will take you to some of the best and safest beaches in the Mediterranean with their associated activities. As the area is still relatively undiscovered by tourism, the beaches are often deserted during the week!

Just ouside of Cheste, is the Ricardo Tormo Racing Circuit, which among other motorsport events, hosts rounds of the World SuperBike championships, The Moto GP and the World Touring Car Championships.

The County Town of Lliria (The City Of Music) is a 10 minute drive away with a weekly market, a daily indoor market and excellent opportunities for those bigger shopping trips! Again, there are many bars and restaurants and cafes in the town to cater for most tastes.

The Wine growing region of Requena is about 40 minutes away, and Bunol (famous for the annual Tomato fight) is about 20 minutes away.
